Assume that you are an OB consultant. Recently, your supervisor gives you a case of “WEGMANS” (which is on core textbook p601). Carefully read the case, and perform an analysis of the case based on OB models, concepts and theories.
Task: Write a report which addresses the following questions:
1.What is strong and weak culture? Would you characterize Wegman's culture as strong or weak? Why? How will the culture at Wegman's likely to affect its employees, paticularly new hires?
2.What is the primary source of Wegman's culture? What has Wegman's been done to sustain its culture? Are there any other ways that can be used to maintain a company's culture? Give some examples.
3.How do employees learn culture in Wegman's? Are there any other ways that can help employees to learn their compay's culture? What do you think is the most effective way for employees to learn their company's culture?
4.Do you think culture is important for a company? Why? (If possible, please give some examples to support your proposition.)
